Sometimes my job feels more like fashion paradise.... What I've been doing lately, and will soon be sharing with all of you:

Actually you can just read this one here ;)

But here are some more pictures from Black Halo
^^^ FYI she is Laurel Berman^^^ designer  of Black Halo!!

One of my favorite dresses--I love a sleeve and that print is amaze.

Lauren Conrad wore this dress, which means we all need one right?

And then....

This might be in the Neiman Marcus Couture Salon.

And that might be Ken Downing strutting his stuff behind that model...

But More on that later...

#ABC12 AKA Arizona Blogger Conference

On Saturday night I made my very first visit to The Saguaro hotel in Scottsdale. Let me just say that this place is amazing--the bright colored walls, the amazing cucumber water in the lobby (I'm a genuine hotel water connoisseur), the super nice and cute bartender who broke a $20 for Angela and I (errr should have taken a pic, so unlike me), and of course the cool atmosphere and contemporary furnishings.

This visit was set up by the Phoenix Style Collective for the 1st Arizona Blogger Conference (#ABC12).

The evening started with a picture in front of the Madewell backdrop (after receiving an adorable denim polka dot Madewell tote). My blogger friend Angela was kind of enough to take a picture with moi.

The Phoenix Style Collective team made sure that there was never a dull moment: friendship bracelet making (I gave up after row 1), a yummy spread of....spread and pickled beets, tomatoes, cauliflower and more, latte art via the Coffee Chop, and stylish vendors.

As the evening continued bloggers got a special lesson from Agency Arizona model Aqua... as usual she worked it! And I have a few more poses to add to my repertoire.

Finally we got to hear from some local business owners, entrepreneurs, and expert bloggers. They shared tips on how to better blog content, pictures, creating a niche, and staying true to yourself:

Sarah Rhodes, Arrow & Apple
Katie Leavitt, Running on Happiness
Chelsea Brown, Tea Talk
Georgeanne Bryant, Owner of Frances Vintage and Smeeks
Margaree Bigler, Local First AZ

It was a wonderful night and I can't wait for the next event so I can meet everyone I didn't get to this time around!

PSC Launch Party

On Friday night I helped celebrate the launch of Phoenix Style Collective at the Grow Up in downtown Phoenix. The goal of this stylish group is to link the tastemakers in the Phoenix Fashion and Style businesses. From the look of the crowd that attended the party,  PSC is off to an excellent start: bloggers, stylists, photographers, artists and I'm sure the list goes on.

My outfit for the evening...I was talking so much I forgot to take one at the party!
Jacket: My mother's closet haha
Shirt: Disneyland
Jeans: Target
Heels: Kenneth Cole Reaction

Our lovely hosts & the PSC creators: Courtney of Phoenix Is Haute , Kara of Sunshine Cupcakes , Chelsea of Tea Talk , Katherine of A Bit of Sparkle Farkle , and Josh from the Grow Op.

I was being a sneaky. Courtney looks great!

The party getting started.

Rioux Leroux Outfit

Thanks to my blogger friend Angela I have a picture of what I wore to the Rioux Leroux Show. Be sure to check out her blog Forward Fashion Diary  for a detailed recap of the show and the collections!

Dress - Gap {I can hear you all saying "OF COURSE!"}
Sheer Polka Dot Tights - Banana Republic
Shoes - Kenneth Cole Reaction
Jewelry - Forever 21 {I know you can't see the earrings}

I debated on whether or not to wear all black but in the end I figured my polka dots would kind of break it up... plus I wore my favorite red coat!

Coat - Banana Republic
Purse - Zara

Nails - OPI {I can't find the name anywhere on the bottle!}

Event- Runway For A Cause

Thursday night I met up with a few blogger friends, with the hubby in tow, to check out the 2nd annual Rioux Leroux: Runway For A Cause fashion show at The Duce in downtown Phoenix. The show produced and directed by Anthony Leroux & Nelson Hawks showed several local designers.

I'm always up for supporting local fashion and talent, but I will say I was slightly disappointed by the end of the evening. After several swimsuit lines and a T-shirt line a good portion of the people left, leaving the final designers with only a small audience to admire their hard work. In my opinion the lineup could have been better varied or perhaps even cut down to half the number of designers.
Nonetheless the models gave it their all and so.... here they are:

*Note click on the photos to see full size*

Pottymouf was definitely on the punk/rock/alternative side of the spectrum: a lot of destroyed looks, studded denim, creepy font.

Jeremy Andrews had destroyed looks as well, there was also a lot of fringe tassel shoulder embellishment. Hoodies and a collared sleeveless shirt entered the picture toward the end leaving me a little confused.

Mabella Chic showed several dresses and skirts, perhaps for a night out with the girls or a dinner date.

Jennvi Dizon Couture had an array of ballerina and princess inspired dresses.

Black Russian Label showed several of the looks seen at Phoenix Fashion Week: bright yellows and blues, florals. Tribal was a key influence in the styling department.

Model friends of mine, Jewel Byrd and Diana Hughes both walked for BRL. {they are sisters}

Event Worthy Looks

Last night I attended a local fashion event {I'll have a post up later today} and I was totally the blogger in heels. I know that the smart thing is to wear a semi-casual look with flats, but I just can't bring myself to look so-so if everyone else gets to look amazing...I definitely wore a dress and heels and stood with the rest of the "photogs" pleated skirt and all! {with my fashionable friend Angela}

Beside the fact that I pretty much have to limp-walk back to the car at the end of the night, the only other problem I see about my determination to dress up for events is that I quickly run out of outfits! So I've started an event outfit wish list ... what do you think of my choices so far?

RAINBOW LUREX CROSS BACK DRESS BY DRESS UP TOPSHOP

I love the sparkle, the pattern, the bow, and the colors. I realize that this is on the extreme Holiday outfit side, but I still like it.

Silk blouse and sequined top zara

This is one case that I think I would actually wear flats, the luxe look of silk combined with the eye catching gold sequins is more than enough snazz for one outfit!

free people chevron sweater dress macy's

I've been eyeing this Free People dress for awhile now; it would like great with tights or jeans.

Crystal clutch bcbg

Can you believe it, I don't have a clutch! I think this one is just absolutely gorgeous.
